I approach each voiceover with an open mind, modifying my delivery as the project demands and the producer directs (or vice-versa!) through an extremely broad range. So, though I've voiced weekly for the largest American broadcasters in Asia, few listeners ever realized that the announcer promoting light family fare on The Disney Channel was the same guy hyping horror movies on AXN (Sony Pictures). Or that the ESPN voice pushing hard for MLB or EPL was closely related to the one waxing lyrical about furniture or foot-cream during the commercials. And all the voice characterizations I created while dubbing Toei and Shochiku anime and films don't make me any easier to identify. It all comes down to range, experience and striving to be better. But enough of that -- have a listen yourself. And if you like what you hear, maybe I'll be speaking for you, too!
